Mia is a young girl haunted by a ‘darkness’ that threatens her sanity. When she is barely five years old, her babysitter is murdered in the next room. That fateful night forever changes her future. She is left struggling with nightmares and flashbacks, questioning what is real. When a doctor attempts to help, the medications do little more than treat her anxiety and Mia has no choice but to fend for herself. Yet at fifteen, with no viable income, the price she must pay is high.
When she goes away to college Mia discovers friendship and love, and if she is brave enough, the possibility of a different future. Yet there is no escaping her past.
